To know who we are, you need to see where we started
In 1972, Dr. John "Jack" Sunderbruch founded the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care on what he called "the concept of a more active peer review organization with a strong quality component and cost containment characteristic." The size of his staff? Exactly three employees.
Over the years, Telligen has been responsible for many "firsts," including:
- Establishing the first nation-wide public reporting solution for hospital quality measures
- Developing and implementing the physician quality reporting initiative, PQRI , the first nation-wide quality driven physician incentive payment program
- Saving a state's Medicaid program more than $88 million dollars through a "first-of-its kind" population health management approach with physician and member interventions
- Building and managing a data warehouse for more than 4.5 billion Medicare records.
And we have just begun.
In 2011, we renamed IFMC to Telligen, to better reflect how we use the power of Healthcare Intelligence to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of healthcare for consumers and providers..
Today we have nearly 600 employees helping a diverse set of clients across the country solve their healthcare challenges, Telligen is headquartered in Iowa with offices in Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York and Oklahoma.
